Brain Injury

Trauma is the most common cause of acquired brain injury in young people, especially, of course, there are other ways in the brain, which may take the trauma, stroke is especially common in middle age, then with rare diseases, such as infections and brain tumors. The brain is very sensitive to the amount of blood, so everything that prevents blood flow to the brain and reduces oxygen to the brain may be damaged. Poisons in the blood, such as carbon monoxide gas from your car can poison the brain. Finally, there is a treatment, they can obtain a better faith, which can damage the brain surgeon operating on the brain to remove the tumor may inadvertently cause harm to it, and radiation therapy, often used to treat cancers can damage the brain, and particularly among young people.

There are two guidelines for assessing the severity of brain trauma. The first is how the patient is unconscious, in its worst, which is measured by something called the Glasgow Coma Score, it is usually measured at 15, 15 is fully conscious, and three, how deep in the unconscious, as you can continue to be still alive. The Glasgow Coma Score has three levels in it, it's in response to movements of the eyes and open your eyes, another has to do with responses to the speech and the third is that in response to movement. These three levels of all, may be a number which gives you a complete picture. Generally speaking, any head injury in Glasgow Coma Score one to eight or less is classified as very serious brain injury.

The second thing, which is used to assess the severity of brain injury, if this is what is called post traumatic amnesia (PTA), which is the period when the memory of the incident ever returned. The PTA will not shrink, so if one month after head injury PTA person per hour, is still one hour a year later. The PTA has a very close relationship over time need to get back into work and is also a risk factor, as late traumatic epilepsy.

Temporal lobes, on both sides of the brain linked to memory, but also a contribution to the moods and emotions. The most devastating impact of severe weather damage to lobes with a loss of memory, especially short-term memory loss.

The occipital lobes at the back of the brain where vision is perceived. There are injured more frequently, acquired brain injury, but if they are damaged, can be very severe brain damage, the world sees.
In the cerebellum, in the back of the head, control, coordination of movement and muscle coordination of the larynx (voice box). If the injured victim will be clumsy with your hands and feet and their speech may be unclear and cumbersome, they may have difficulty in swallowing too.

One of the most obvious problems that may develop brain damage or weakness of arms or legs, lack of coordination of the hand or foot. Speech and language functions may be damaged, or in terms of getting the words, understand words, or just drive in the production of speech so that speech may become blurred or indistinct. Special senses (hearing, sight, smell and taste) are often damaged, in addition to smell, smell, when lost items delicate flavor is lost.

When it comes to recovery from brain injury is time. Time is for children already in the first 10 to 15 years of life. In essence, most recovery occurs during the first 18 months. A better way to search is that when someone reaches a plateau and remained on the platform, that for six months, it is not certain how they will stay.
